Lots of new & exciting things have been happening in the Collections Team world!
Over the last couple of months we have been transitioning from the P2 database to a new system called BlueCloud Acquistions (some of you may be familiar with this, some of you may not). These are the databases that the Collections team uses to Select & Receive in new stock for our library.
As part of this new system, it means that our spine labels on our books may start to look a little different.
The font is slightly different and the actual print will no longer be centred on the spine label.
Now the print will be justified on the left.
Also the Large print labels are in a Larger Print
So if you start to see spine labels that look a little different, which in the past has been a red flag to alert us that the item may actually belong to another library... All is most likely well, it is probably our new look spine labels!
Here are a couple of examples of what the new spine labels will look like
lookin' good!
ReplyDeleteRandom tecchie question - is there any way we could move the placement of our barcodes, now that we don't need them for self-check? They so often cover the title of the book so it would be great if that didn't need to happen anymore...just a thought... ;)
