Going to ground...

For those who weren't @ Unley Civic Library today prepare to be excited - the first of our security gates has joined the underground! It's the most used one on the Oxford Terrace entrance. Here are some pics for your visual enjoyment...
Revel in that seamless look and smooth walking experience. Ahhhhhhh...

They ran out of time to do the second council side gate, in a comedy of errors that involved flights delayed by three hours, large metal floor joists, conduit length challenges and me doing a stint as a doorman for the library (was quite fun actually). It's all good though, they will be back Wednesday to install the Goodwood gate and will pop over afterwards to finish off the Unley one. If there isn't time it will be done Thursday afternoon. Until then the second set of Unley gates are slightly back further than usual and have some festively coloured witches hat cones for company.

A huge thanks to Martine for organising for this brilliant solution to be implemented (you don't even want to know how much coordination was required) and for starting @ 7:00AM today and Wednesday to oversee the installs 😬

So hang in there for a few more days (with the Oxford gate alarm not making sounds and the council side gates back further so we keep setting them off with the workroom trolleys!) for soon a seamless look and smooth walking experience will be on offer at all Unley Libraries locations. Squee!

  1. I LOVE the new-look gate without the rise. It's a very 'smooth' entry/exit now. :-)
